End-Of-Summer JRG Celebration

End-Of-Summer JRG Celebration

Plans to celebrate the end of the summer for the Jahn Research Group were at risk of being foiled as the forecast predicted heavy rain during lunch time on Monday, August 31st. With hoods pulled over their heads, masks on, and umbrellas at the ready, the JRG team mustered up their strength and ran through the pouring rain to meet for a socially-distant pizza party at Hoyt Park, meeting under the pavilion to avoid the rain. The team ordered from Novanta, a new favorite spot for this group, where each member got their own personal-sized pizza.

The end-of-summer celebration marked the end of the three undergrads working full-time, as they all go back to school to finish their degrees. All three students will continue to work for JRG part-time throughout the semester. But the pizza lunch was not just to celebrate the end of summer, group member Mark Truttman turned 22 years old on September 1! Mark chose Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches for dessert, bringing memories of a childhood favorite for much of the team.
